Types of Learning Disabilities: Processing Problems

1. CD 907 “Input: Getting Information into the Brain” – This CD will address the learning disability processing problem with Input. This disability will be described and examples will be given for how this creates a problem for the child in learning basic academic skills. Suggestions will be offered for activities that will assist in helping the child make adequate progress over time.

2. CD 908 “Integration: After the information is in the Brain” – On this CD we will explore the characteristics of the learning disability with integration. If there is a disability with integration, sequencing, abstraction, and/or organization could be deficient and cause the child to have a learning disability.

3. CD 909 “Memory: Retrieving Information After it is Stored in the Brain” – On this CD we will explore the characteristics of the learning disability with Memory including; working memory, short-term memory, and long-term memory.

4. CD 910 “Output: Expressing Language or Motor Skills” – On this CD we will explore the characteristics of the learning disability with output. Topics will include; language disability in organizing thoughts and engaging in conversation and motor disability in fine motor and gross motor skills.
