Researchers have reported that rising sixth graders have fears about going to middle school. Students have expressed their greatest fears are:
1. Getting lost
2. Using the lockers
3. Following schedules
4. Keeping up with the workload
5. Being in a crowd of strangers
This CD addresses each of the concerns expressed by students entering into the middle school environment and offers practical solutions that parents can use to ease their child's anxieties.
Making the effort before school begins to familiarize your child with the new school surroundings will get him/her off to a great start in middle school. Then s/he can concentrate on the school work and the extracurricular activities that parents have the most anxieties about.
