We will provide reading specialists / literacy coaches and teachers with the additional support needed to implement various instructional programs and practices. Our consultants will help the coach provide essential leadership for a school's entire literacy program and demonstrate how to supervise long-term staff development processes that support both the development and implementation of the literacy program over months and years.   Our consultants will work with literacy coaches on effective strategies for: pre-conferences, in-class observations, debriefing, and follow-through.    The consultants will work closely with the teachers and coaches to:

Make effective use of reading / literacy data

• Create a Literacy Improvement Committee within the School
• Collaborate with principal on teachers' progress and observations in classroom
• Manage time effectively
• Make informed decisions utilizing data in literacy (PALS, benchmark tests, SOL test)
• Provide teachers and coaches with graphic organizers and templates to assist with coordination of programs, students' reading interventions, data management

Our consultant will ensure that the literacy coach feels comfortable and confident performing their role and assist the coach in implementing effective techniques and strategies to strengthen the literacy program.
